Who is MDW?

MDW is an IT professional with 20+ years of experience across the field — from enterprise infrastructure and networking to software development and cybersecurity. Over the years, he's done a little bit of everything the industry has to offer.

It started when he began exploring streaming himself. Like most people, his first stop was YouTube and the forums — and what he found was a sea of conflicting opinions, outdated guides, and advice that was heavy on "what" with almost no "why." Settings pulled from a video that was three platform updates old. Recommendations with no technical basis behind them. The information existed, but none of it was grounded in how any of it actually worked.

So he did what any engineer would do: went back to the source. Technical specifications. Manufacturer documentation. Provider documentation. He even dug into source code — including OBS — to understand at a deep level how all the pieces connected. There was real trial and error involved, but eventually things clicked. Once they did, it became obvious just how big the gap was between what people were saying and what was actually true.

Why MDW Gaming?

That's when he started helping people directly. An encoding tweak here. A sound filter there. Friends in his groups started coming to him with their setup problems, and the results spoke for themselves. Before long, he'd become the go-to resource — and eventually it made sense to turn that into something real.
